These workshops are tailored from 10 to 19 year olds who are keen to learn new techniques. These classes feature creative projects, interactive activities and fashion tips. We also teach them the art of bespoke dressmaking on a budget!
Please note: all fabrics & materials are included in the cost of the workshop.
Firstly, you will receive an introduction from Maxine and you will learn about the tools involved in sewing. Following the introduction, you will then learn how to sew, including undertaking sewing techniques such as hand stitching, threading a needle and making a secure knot, running stitch and a backstitch. You'll take home a cushion cover you create within workshop one.
Within workshop two, you will make a heart shaped lavender pillow using hand stitching that you learned within workshop one!
Workshop three will cover learning to use a sewing machine, including how to wind the bobbin, inserting a bobbin and threading a machine. You'll take a home a drawstring bag you'll make too.
You will learn to make a scrunchie, an ideal gift to a friend or family member.
Within workshop six you will have the opportunity to make a tote bag.
You will learn and make a skirt within both of these workshops. This will include lay out and cutting out.
In the final workshops you will have the opportunity to make comfy lounge shorts. You will reinforce your learning of the sewing techniques you have learnt across all of the previous workshops.
